The 35th Annual Park Ridge Garden Club
Residential Beautification Awards Contest

The City of Park Ridge and the Park Ridge Garden Club are co-sponsoring  a  Beautification Awards Contest for residents in the City of Park Ridge. The contest recognizes residents of free-standing, single-family homes who have made their homes and landscaping the most attractive in our City.
Up to five winners will each receive $100 from the PRGC and a 1-year honorary membership to the PRGC along with a lawn sign provided by the City of Park Ridge. Winners previous to 2016 are eligible to win again. Prizes are awarded by the Mayor at a City Council meeting.
​Judging is done of the street view portion of the property by Landscape Design Consultants from the Garden Clubs of Illinois, a non-biased committee. The following standards for evaluating the landscape design will be used:
  • Year-round overall appearance - visible address numbers, maintained paved areas, condition of buildings
  • Design - color, layout, originality, beauty, special features
  • Lawn condition -  maintenance, quality of turf or ground covering used as substitute for turf
  • Perennials, trees, shrubs -  condition of plant material,  proportion and scale of plant material to structures
  • Flowers and other annual plantings - variety, color, condition
The street view of the property will be photographed as part of the judging process. If chosen as a winner, photos are property of the Park Ridge Garden Club.
Entry deadline is Tuesday, June 30, with photos being taken the week of July 5, 2026.
